WordWise PH (“we,” “our”) is an English learning platform for children in the Philippines. We take privacy seriously — especially children’s privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1. What We Collect
- Account information: full name, username, and password when you register. Your account type (kid or adult) is also stored.
- Game data: scores, rounds played, and game progress — used for leaderboards and your score history.
- Payment information: your GCash reference number when you subscribe to a paid plan. We never see or store your GCash PIN, balance, or full account details.
- Support messages: messages you send through our in-app chat or Telegram support bot, to help us respond to you.
2. How We Use It
- To create and manage your account and subscription
- To save scores and show leaderboards (only your username is visible to other users)
- To verify GCash payments and activate subscription plans
- To respond to support requests via in-app chat or Telegram
- To send admin notifications about new payments (to the WordWise PH administrator only)
3. Password Security
Your password is hashed using SHA-256 before being stored. This means we never store your actual password — only a one-way encrypted version of it. Even our own administrators cannot read your password. If you forget it, it cannot be recovered; a new one must be set.
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
All account, score, and payment data is stored securely on Supabase — a trusted cloud database platform built on PostgreSQL, hosted on servers in the Asia-Pacific region. Supabase enforces Row Level Security (RLS), meaning database rows are protected by access policies.
- Your data is protected by Supabase’s enterprise-grade security infrastructure
- Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
- The site is hosted on GitHub Pages with HTTPS
- Payment notifications are delivered via Telegram bots (Telegram’s own privacy policy applies to those messages)
5. What We Never Do
- ❌ We never sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or third parties
- ❌ We never show ads to children
- ❌ We never contact children directly without parental involvement
- ❌ We never store plain-text passwords
- ❌ We never use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tracking tools
6. Children’s Privacy
WordWise PH is designed for children to use with parental involvement. We recommend that a parent or guardian creates the account and manages the subscription. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without parental consent.
If you believe a child has provided information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly — within 7 days.
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (supabase.com/privacy)
- Vercel — website hosting and global content delivery (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy). Vercel serves all pages of WordWise PH and may log request metadata such as IP addresses and page paths for performance and security purposes. No personal account data is shared with Vercel.
- GitHub — source code repository and version control (GitHub Privacy Statement). The site source code is stored on GitHub but user data is never stored there.
- Telegram — admin payment notifications and customer support bots (telegram.org/privacy)
- Google Fonts — font loading (no cookies set, no tracking)
- GCash — payment processing (GCash’s own privacy policy applies)
8. Data Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your account and all associated data within 7 days.
Payment records (GCash reference numbers) are kept for a minimum of 6 months for financial record-keeping purposes, then deleted.
9. Data Deletion
You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by:
- Emailing darcant01@gmail.com
- Messaging @wordwiseph_support_bot on Telegram
- Using the in-app chat support
We will confirm deletion within 7 days.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of WordWise PH means you accept the updated policy.
