Grade 1: Building Blocks
- Naming words (nouns) — people, places, things
- Action words (verbs) — run, jump, eat
- Simple sentences: "The dog runs."
- Capital letters at the start, period at the end
- Singular vs plural with -s (cat → cats)
💡 At this age, focus on speaking and recognizing — writing rules come later.
Grade 2: Expanding Sentences
- Describing words (adjectives) — big, red, happy
- Pronouns: he, she, it, they (extra practice needed for Filipino kids!)
- Present tense vs past tense basics
- Question words: who, what, where, when, why
- Using "a" and "an" correctly
Grade 3: Grammar Rules Kick In
- Subject-verb agreement (she walks, they walk)
- Irregular past tense (go → went, eat → ate)
- Prepositions: in, on, under, beside
- Compound sentences with "and," "but," "or"
- Contractions: don't, can't, isn't
Grade 4: Getting Precise

- All 8 parts of speech confidently
- Complex and compound-complex sentences
